How can I block gambling payments with Trustly?

How can I block gambling payments with Trustly?

The Trustly gambling block is only available in Finland and it can only be applied to a bank account you have previously used with Trustly.

A gambling block is a responsible gambling tool that blocks payments or deposits to online casinos, betting sites, and other gambling merchants when you use supported Trustly payment methods. It can help you control your gambling spending.

The block does not apply to payments made using Finnish bank buttons, known as Verkkopankki.

The block stays active until Trustly confirms that it has been removed.

How do I activate the gambling block?

  1. Contact Trustly through the contact page.
  2. Provide proof that you own the bank account you want to block. The account must have been used for a previous Trustly payment. For example, you can provide proof of payment for a recent Trustly payment made from that account.
  3. Trustly will send you an email asking for your consent to process and store your information.
  4. Confirm your request using the link in the email within 24 hours.

Trustly will process your request after you confirm it. You will receive confirmation when the gambling block has been applied. The block is not active until then.

If you do not confirm within 24 hours, Trustly will cancel your request and delete your data. You will need to submit a new request if you still want to activate the block.

If you live outside Finland

The Trustly gambling block described in this article is not available outside Finland.

Some countries may offer self-exclusion services or other ways to restrict access to gambling. You can use the following regulator or government websites as a starting point:

Trustly does not operate or control these websites and cannot guarantee that the information they provide is complete, accurate, or up to date.

Check the relevant website or contact your local gambling regulator to confirm which services are available and what types of gambling they cover.

Important information

The gambling block is a voluntary service. Trustly offers it to support consumers who want to restrict their own payments to gambling merchants through Trustly. It is not required by law or regulation.

To apply and maintain the block, Trustly needs to process and store the personal data you provide. This may include sensitive personal data. When you confirm your request, you will be asked to give explicit consent under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for Trustly to process this data. GDPR is the regulation that governs how your personal data is collected and used. Trustly will keep this data until you remove the block and withdraw your consent.
